Building Restoration FAQs
On 28 September 2025, a fire occurred on Level 4 of our church premises, resulting in significant damage to Bethel Hall and affecting electrical supply to Level 3. Repairs on Level 3 have been completed and we will resume onsite services from 7 Dec. Level 4 will remain closed due to ongoing repair works in Bethel Hall.
2025 年 9 月 28 日，教堂四楼发生火灾，导致四楼崇拜厅（伯特利大厅）严重受损，并影响到三楼的电力供应。三楼的修复工作已完成，我们将于 12 月 7 日起恢复实体崇拜会。由于四楼崇拜厅（Bethel）在进行修复工作，四楼将继续关闭。在另行通知前，严禁任何人进入四层区域。

At present, we are waiting for the official investigation report to be released as to the cause and magnitude of the fire.

How long will restoration take?
修复工程需要多长时间？
Restoration of the building will progress in phases, with the first phase being decontamination of the premises and structural assessment by a professional engineer. Once this is done and our proposal for roof works has been approved by the relevant parties, roof repairs will begin proper, which will take an estimated four months to complete. After roof works are completed, renovation of Bethel Hall on Level 4 will proceed. Full restoration of Level 4 is expected to take up to one year.
教会建筑的修复工作将分阶段进行。第一阶段是由专业工程师对场所进行清理与除污以及结构评估。在完成这些工作并且屋顶修复方案获得相关部门批准后，屋顶修复工程将正式开始，预计需要约四个月完成。屋顶修复完成后，将继续进行四楼崇拜厅（Bethel）的翻新工程，整个四楼的全面修复预计需要长达一年的时间。

Onsite worship will resume in Hebron Hall from 7 Dec 2025. For all other ministry activities, please check with your ministry leader.

Has the air quality in church been assessed to ensure no health or safety concerns?
教堂内的空气质量是否经过评估，以确保不存在健康或安全隐患？
To address any concerns about air quality, an air-quality assessment was conducted on 4 December by a professional agency. Official results are expected within two weeks. Air purifiers have also been placed in key areas of the church where we anticipate the greatest need to help alleviate concerns about air quality as onsite services resume.

GIVE towards our Building Restoration Fund. At present, we are uncertain how much insurance will cover, but we would certainly need to pay a significant amount for the repair works, fixtures and equipment lost. In the unlikely event that surplus funds are raised, the excess will be channelled to our General Building Fund.

Where will Youth Camp 2025 be held?

Youth Camp will proceed on the dates as planned, however it will be a stay-out camp held in WEFC.
