Best practices & breakout rooms (Chinese or English)
- Best Practices: Please mute your microphone (1) during worship and (2) when in a large group (unless you are speaking). If your internet connection is unstable, turning off video can help to improve audio and prevent dropping out of the meeting.
- Breakout Rooms (prayer in each room mainly in Chinese or English). When you log in, please do indicate behind your name whether you are comfortable to pray in Chinese (C), English (E) or both Chinese and English (CE) so we can allocate you to a suitable group. Praying in unity pleases our Father and the Lord Jesus and is a witness to the world! Jesus prayed “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.” John 17:20–21 (ESV)

Thanksgiving
- My physical, mental, and spiritual health: I used to have stage 3 renal failure, with
a reading of 47. On Oct 1, I had a follow-up blood test, and the reading dropped to 45. The doctor said it had gone from acute to normal. He has recommended a kidney scan, scheduled for Feb 4 at the Central Hospital. - From Sept 16-24, I led a short-term mission team of 13 people (including one child) to Uzbekistan to visit the missionaries there. The visit was a successful one, and the team members received rich blessings.
- I'm thankful for this year's annual missionary conference. During the children's
(ages 7-12) Sunday sharing session, I noticed that the children listened attentively
and participated in the activities. I pray that they will be used by God in the future
and participate in deeper missionary work.
Prayer requests
- Continue to pray for suitable young bilingual co-workers to join our team and
serve. We need to meet the need for more workers. A senior co-worker will retire at
the end of the year, and we are in dire need of suitable personnel. - Pray for our cross-cultural CCEW ministry on Oct 29-30. I will be responsible for a session.

From Nov 26 to Dec 3, Pastor Jiang and I will be in Pakistan to participate in the ministry (Pray for a successful visa application).
- Continue to pray for me to begin online supervision of a pair of prospective missionaries (D & J). I plan to conduct weekly online "Departure" courses, totaling 18 lessons over a period of 15 weeks. This is to prepare them for their arrival in Xinjiang early next year.

- Pray for the bi-weekly English club. Pray for more people to come and for divine opportunities to share. Pray for a couple, R&T, who have had interactions with foreigners for many years. They have very unique personalities and a strong conviction of their faith. Some of our friends find it hard to deal with them and decided not to join the club. Please pray for God to soften and open R&T's hearts should they join us, or if God willing, that they might choose to attend at another time.
- Pray for wisdom as the national partners and I are planning an event in Nov, following up contacts from the Sept joint event. Pray for God to draw the right people to us and pray for readiness from us to respond well.
