Emmaus Men's Support Group
Details
Scripture tells us of the conversation that two of Jesus' followers had with Him on the road to Emmaus. There were questions burning in their hearts.
Have you ever also had endless questions in life that burn in your heart? Are you walking alone on a divorce-road and experiencing the pain of the loss of a spouse? Each journey brings along different impacts from various unique situations and circumstances.
How do we respond to the pain we carry, anger, loneliness, and loss of purpose? Is there a brother who can walk with us on this journey?
The Emmaus Men's Support Group will be a safe space for men who are walking the journey of divorce, whether you are headed for divorce or already divorced, and widowerhood. The invitation is for men to share personal experiences, pray, listen and be listened to, and gain new information to establish helpful coping ways.
This is not a therapy or counselling group. But in mirroring Jesus' compassion and love to the wounded and weary, group members will journey together towards wholeness.
The group will be led by Travis Toin, a member of WEFC who has walked his own journey through divorce. Out of the conversations from the Social Justice Sundays and Joseph Chean's preaching last year, he felt that God was leading Him to start this support group with the blessings and support of the pastoral team.
If you or a friend you know will benefit from being part of such a group, do email Travis at transcending38@gmail.com.
