ANNUAL MINISTRY REPORT 2023
Gather Team
Team Heads: Ps Lim Kee Oon (English) & Rev Ho Kum Weng (Chinese)
Staff & Ministries: Amos Tan (Worship Ministry Leader); all pastoral staff in respective congregations
2023 was a year of consolidation of the FORM of discipleship for our church.
As the discipleship focus for the year was Yes Jesus, I will!, we preached through the Gospel of Mark which constantly raises the question of Jesus’ authority in our lives. We published a Discipleship Journal for the book of Mark at the beginning of the year. Take up was initially good, however the momentum slowly waned after some time. We frequently ended our sermons with a time of reflection on how the sermon would apply to our lives through the “I will…” statement. We are glad to see how the “I will” statement has become a more automatic response for an increasing number of people as they think about actively applying God’s Word in their lives in obedience to Him.
Worship:
In January 2023, we restarted our 11:15am English service and now have a regular attendance of about 70 worshippers. This year, a few of our PathMakers and adults began hosting more regularly in both the English and Chinese worship services. This has been well received and has given these groups a greater sense of belonging to church.
We were privileged to have Awaken Generation come and lead worship in our English and Chinese Services during the year. We pray that this would widen the perspective of corporate worship in our worship team and encourage our congregations to stretch and grow in their expressions of worship.
We thank God for the smooth leadership transition from Ps Alfred to Amos Tan, as the worship ministry core team took on a bigger role. The stewardship of their gifts and willingness to step into deeper waters has allowed the ministry to grow in the midst of the leadership transition. Amos led us through two sessions of equipping for the whole ministry.

The Prayer Ministry continued to pray faithfully for the church weekly. The highlight of the year was the 40.day season of prayer. Attendance was a little lower than in 2021 as people were getting busier with the easing of Covid restrictions. However, we are thankful for the opportunity to have a good prayer walk of the Woodlands community on National Day.
In 2024, we are moving the English Jericho Prayer to every third Sunday of the month between the 9am and 11.15am services (our Chinese Jericho Prayer remains on every first Sunday of the month) to draw more people to pray for the life and concerns of the church. We are also intentionally developing young worship leaders to lead the church in corporate worship, with a strong biblical understanding of their roles.
