Youth & Mental Health
- Confess any insensitivity towards young people struggling with their mental health. Ask the Spirit for a greater awareness of this kind of suffering, for more love and opportunities to show love to those who struggle.
- Ask God to make us safe people who can provide youths and their families with practical, emotional and spiritual support.
- Intercede for our youths. Pray by name for any youth you know struggling with their mental health.
- Intercede for their parents and siblings – to set aside any shame to reach out for help, for patience and wisdom, and to have their needs met as caregivers and siblings who may be sidelined.
Youth, Faith & Church
- Confess our own failure to live our faith authentically – both to model Christ and to love the prodigal.
- Intercede for those in your LCG who have walked away or whose child(ren) have walked away. Intercede for the salvation of your YAY friends in LCG/the pre-believing children represented by your families.
- Ask God to give our leaders and ourselves an understanding of the times. Ask Him to give us wisdom to be like Jesus, who was relevant to His culture.
- Ask God to mould us (1) to be intentional disciple-makers of youth, (2) to be parents and grandparents who pass down their spiritual legacy, and (2) to be youths who build friendships with each other with God at the centre.
Youth & the Digital Culture
- Ask the Holy Spirit to convict our youths about their screen time and social media habits. Only He can change their hearts.
- Ask the Spirit to help us model the tech habits we want to see in our youths. We need His help to model life as wonderfully created beings, made in God’s image, who express our creativity and talents, and care deeply for others. Our youth need to see that life apart from their devices is wonderful and exciting!
- Pray for the larger church to curate godly Christian content for social media. Pray for our young people who are already content creators to honour God and seek His purposes as they engage with the digital space.
- Ask God to firmly anchor our youths’ identity in who He says they are and how they should live, rather than who social media says they should be.
