Baptism is the outward expression of the inward change in a person's life who has accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. Just as Jesus died and was buried, so our baptism candidates are submerged under water. And just as Jesus rose again from death, so our baptism candidates rise again from beneath the water, a symbol of dying to their old selves and living new lives born of new hope that is found in Christ.
