New sound and lighting system in Bethel completed in early 2025
Hot and cold water dispensers were installed on all 4 levels of the church building. The team anchored the units higher from the ground to ensure child safety and provide ease of access to the water outlet for adults. The team also upgraded tables in Jordan 1, 8 and 9 (Level 3) to create a more conducive meeting space for events.
Some of the scheduled improvement works for church facilities were put on hold following the Bethel fire incident on 28 September 2025. The facilities and AVL teams reprioritized their plans to manage projects surrounding the rebuilding of Bethel Hall, from the initial liaising with various government agencies (SPF, SCDF and BCA) and claims from insurance company, to coordinating the cleaning and viable repair works of existing structures of the hall. The rebuilding of Bethel is expected to continue through 2026.
In early 2026, our facilities and AVL team will continue to work with our Professional Engineer (PE) and Project Manager (PM) to carry out the roof repair works and generate a Scope of Work (SOW) for tender, and eventually award the construction works to a selected main contractor. Renovation works in Bethel should begin by June, and is expected to extend through Q3 and early Q4 of 2026. Please pray for a good and reliable main contractor to whom we can award the job, for good working relationships, and safety for all parties involved in the rebuilding.
MEDIA & COMMUNICATIONS
In 2025, our film ministry embarked on a series of videos titled
"Let's Talk About..." to cover a range of faith-related topics. We will continue to produce quality videos to highlight various meaningful themes under this series. Our social media team continued to produce content for our Telegram and Instagram channels. We thank God for the opportunity to build intergenerational mentoring relationships within both the film and social media teams, as we seek to use our gifts for His glory.
We also designed one of the walls in Cana with customised lettering to display our vision for 2028 - Life on life, generation to generation. In the first half of 2026, we have plans to design the adjacent wall in Cana to showcase our FORM of discipleship. The Comms team will also engage the congregation in designing a new WEFC tee shirt.
