OUTREACH
In 2025, the Welcome Team showed hospitality to over 90 visitors that attended our English services, 20 of whom continue to worship regularly at WEFC today. Despite the disruption caused by the fire, God continued to bring Woodlanders into our community.
We also refined our outreach approach by having Loh Choong Seng oversee Community Outreach as our WSC Liaison, while Erny continued to oversee Evangelism and the Welcome Team.
Community Outreach
Now in its second year, Connect@806, WEFC’s main outreach expression through WSC, matured into a steady platform for WEFC members to live out the call to love our neighbours. Each month, about 18 WEFC volunteers supported an average of 65 households and 179 beneficiaries, reaching 2,148 individuals over the year! By building trust through regular food distribution, conversations, and faithful presence, several residents from the surrounding blocks were also drawn to the initiative and began receiving food support regularly, creating pathways for deeper engagement.
Spiritual bridges were formed. One resident from Block 806 attended a WEFC Sunday service and was later invited to join a volunteer’s Life Change Group (LCG). In addition, two children from Block 806 began attending Sunday service and joined WEFC’s Children’s Ministry, reflecting outreach fruit that extends beyond meeting practical needs.

Through the Televisit Centre, 15 WEFC volunteers continued to journey with families affected by incarceration, with two additional volunteers joining the team at the end of the year.
In 2025, WSC revamped THRIVE, an academic support programme for Primary school going children. The Club Explore programme was launched for pre-teens, focusing on Choices, Identity, and Relationships, with families engaged through outings and parenting support. While God has graciously provided resources and partnerships, the pressing need is now for more WEFC volunteers to serve in THRIVE and Club Explore where long-term relationships are vital. We recognise this is Christ’s call to “Go and make disciples” and pray that WEFC members will respond, not to another programme, but to a Gospel journey of presence, love, and transformation in our community.
Evangelism and Witness
Christianity Explored (CEx) continued to be the main vehicle for WEFCers to introduce Jesus to friends and family. Through three runs of CEx in 2025, the fundamentals of our faith were examined by 18 WEFCers and their 15 guests. We praise God for at least 3 who turned their lives over to Christ as Lord and Saviour through CEx. Our weak link continues to be the need for WEFCers willing to follow-up with these new believers and young Christians for a season of discipleship.
In February 2025, we also had the opportunity to host the Watoto Children’s Choir for an evangelistic concert. Over 680 WEFCers and their guests heard of God’s goodness in the children’s lives in the midst of trouble and pain. Divine conversations continued as about 300 stayed on for dinner. In 2026, we would like to continue with these opportunities for faith conversations over meals. It was especially heartening to see our youths, supported by a small team of aunties, rise up to host the choir and helm the event.

Praying together before the concert event
We produced the second volume of Ordinary People, Extraordinary God which went on sale in December 2025. 15 WEFCers shared their God-story in this volume and we ask God to use these stories to draw friends and family who have been gifted this book to Himself.
Just as with Community Outreach, these programmes are merely platforms the church can provide. Our desire is for more of us to put on a lifestyle of personal witness — to be the beautiful feet that bring good news and proclaim salvation to those who need Jesus. We wish to see WEFCers grow to serve and reach out as an expression of the growth in their discipleship.
We continue praying to see 200 new believers come into God’s Kingdom by 2028 through our worshippers’ obedience to the call to be faithful witnesses for God.
MISSIONS
Throughout 2025, we continued to send and support numerous missions partners and four long-term missionary families:
- Guanwen, Rachel, Esther and Estelle Lee in Timor-Leste
- Leonard and Bettina Leow in Singapore
- Louis and Christina Lau in Japan
- Titus and Ginny Lau in Kurdistan
Their outreach includes integral missions, business as missions, church planting training, and church mobilization. Over the year, WEFC sent several short-term missions trips to Batam, Japan, Thailand and Timor-Leste.
One difficult matter we faced was the closing of Renovar Foundation in Timor-Leste as we were unable to continue running it when our missionary partner Jose Guerreiro left this ministry. Through the year 2025, we brought operations to a gradual close. We are grieved to see something that has been so precious come to an end, but also give thanks for many lives touched — both children and families — and those who have come to faith. The Lees have since started Oassis Maubisse, a new missional business project and we are discerning the next steps for our ministry in Timor-Leste. You can

We also had significant leadership transitions in 2025. In particular, we thank Pastor Jimmy Won who stepped down after over two years as Missions Pastor. With effect from 1 October 2025, Rev Ivan Liew has returned as Missions Pastor and together with Elder Michael Lee as Chairmain of the Missions Board, they now lead WEFC Missions. The Missions Leadership Team has handed over their responsibilities to them and stepped down. We have further streamlined our missions leadership structures and now have a Missions Committee, Missions Core Team, and Anchor Teams for each field.
In 2026, we aim to mobilize the church toward a life given to the mission of God. This will involve strengthening our mission trip preparations and follow-up and providing greater clarity on our missions activities and direction, such as in Timor-Leste. We are also continuing the good work done on journeying with missionary candidates in order to see future generations thrive on the mission field.
