Senior Pastor's Report
Dear Church,
In 2024, we launched our 2028 focus of Intergenerational Mentoring Towards Disciple Making. This is about building a culture of intergenerational mentoring that will enable us to disciple the next generation, develop leaders and drive our personal mission and evangelism. We, the pastors and elders, began by forming mentoring groups to learn and experience the mentoring process for ourselves. I am also glad to see that members of our congregation are taking the initiative to interact and build relationships across the generations.
DISCIPLESHIP FOCUS
Over the year, we preached through the minor prophet books of Hosea, Amos and Micah. Through the lived-out parable of Hosea and his unfaithful wife, we learnt the extent of God’s love for us — that He would still reach out to us although we have been unfaithful and chosen other lovers. We got a glimpse of how much we must have hurt God’s heart, yet He still calls us to return to Him.

We also learnt how important the poor and the oppressed are to God. This point was repeated throughout the books, reiterating how important this is to God and how far He go to urge and rebuke His people to care for the poor and needy. On that note, I am glad to see our increasing commitment to volunteer via Woodlands Social Centre (WSC) platforms to reach out to the community, and I pray that it comes from our obedience to God’s Word and our desire to reflect the Father’s heart for the poor.
STAFFING
In line with one of the goals of our 5-year plan, which is to equip families to disciple their children, Ps Annabel relinquished her role as Youth Pastor to focus on equipping the parents of youths and children to disciple their own children. We thank her for her years of leading, guiding and mentoring generations of youths into adulthood.

Mrs Khoo Hern Ern took over the Youth Ministry and reports to Ps Annabel.
Ps Vernon, who also reports to Ps Annabel, took over the Little Olive Tree ministry from Hern Ern.
In October 2024, the Missions Leadership Team (MLT) was formed to meet our growing missions needs. Leadership for our four designated fields — Thailand, Vietnam, Timor Leste and Japan — are distributed to Ps Jimmy, Julian Thumboo, Elder Andy Chong and Elder Jason Lim.
Mr Loh Choong Seng has spent 2024 in the One Life One Year (OLOY) program exploring God's call on his life in missions and outreach. In 2025, he has decided to give his time to serve in church as a Ministry Associate. He will be serving with Raymond to strengthen the LCGs, as well as helping to bridge the gap between WSC and our church volunteers. We thank Choong Seng for his obedience to God's call and his sacrifices for God's Kingdom.
Mrs Khoo Hern Ern continues into the third year of her Master of Arts in Counselling at TCA College and will finish at the end of 2025. Mr Khoo Seng Khong continues his Master of Divinity at Singapore Bible College and expects to finish in May 2028.
KEY EVENTS
Funistry continues to lay the foundation of our aspiration to be an intergenerational church by organising fun events for all the generations to participate in. We greatly appreciate the church for participating in these events with the intention of learning from the other generations. We pray to see deeper relationships form out of these casual interactions.

The Young Adults and Youth (YAY) Leaders Retreat from 9-11 August was an important milestone with many of the older leaders taking time out of their busy schedules to meet with and spend time with our younger leaders. It tore down walls and built bonds that we pray will continue well into the future.
WSC is back in action in 2024 with the Connect@806 and Prison Televisit Centre platforms. Many have been actively serving at Connect@806 and are committed to serve even more than just once a month.
LOOKING FORWARD
In 2025, we are seeking to build on our culture of Intergenerational Mentoring for Disciple Making. We will continue to mentor intergenerationally through our official leadership development platforms, and we pray that other mentoring relationships will also sprout naturally and organically.
This year, we are calling the congregation to serve with greater focus. At present, some of our members are wearing multiple hats and serving in several ministries simultaneously, while others are not serving in any ministry at all. Our prayer is that every member will have an area of focus to serve in, which God has uniquely equipped them for and led them to take up. This focus will allow us to serve with greater passion and build deeper relationships for more effective and joyful ministry that will strengthen the church.
On the WSC front, we look forward coming onboard the T.H.R.I.V.E. program, to help further strengthen and support families in the community.
May we continue to come together as one family to serve the Lord with joy!
